 Ellie

Andy & Mary Beaudry

We can’t thank you enough.  The past few months were so indescribably difficult after the passing of our beloved yellow lab of 11 years – Maggie.

Ellie has brought joy, happiness and life back into our home.  She may have been the last pick of the litter, but the first pick in our hearts.  She was waiting for us to take her home.

She is so loving, sweet & full of energy (Ellie means lively) and smart.

She has been at work for 1 ˝ weeks and is doing amazing.  She has met at least 200 customers young and old alike…and knows what she can and can’t touch.  Our store is packed with merchandise and we spent the first day telling her over and over “no bite, gentle & give”.  We thought she was never going to get it and was as the brink of pulling our hair out in tears.  Much to our amazement, the next day she didn’t touch a thing.  She’ll still run by with a silk floral from time to time to keep us on our toes.

She has sit mastered, starting stay and can heel for 100 feet.

She is such a blessing.  We love her so much.

Thank you.

Dama Dama Dama Dama

Dama - Travis and Jessica Vanderlist

Dama (Lady in Polish) is doing really well. For the most part she is house and crate trained, she has an accident on rare occasions.  She sits on voice and whistle commands and stays extremely well. We are still working on come and heal but she is starting to grasp the concept. I have introduced her to the sound of a gun with a starter pistol and it doesn't seem to phase her which is good.  We have taken her on a few walks in the woods and she seems to really like all the things to explore. Her ears pick up at the sound of ducks and geese flying overhead which makes me excited to see her retrieve. Her attempts at swimming have been less then spectacular but she is becoming more comfortable. In a week or so we may go to a informal hunt test to get her introduced to birds, which sounds like a lot of fun and as it stands there should be some other puppies around for her to play with. All in all thanks for the great dog Jo, she is frustrating at times but you can really see that things are starting to click. Good luck to everyone else with their puppies, I hope to see you all sometime or another and have a family reunion!

Chase Chase

#7 - Chase  The Zimmermans

Chase is doing great. He has become a member of the family already. He is sleeping through the night, well at least the last couple. Here are some pictures of him in his new home.

3-2-07

Chase is doing very well, he is sleeping through the night with out much fuss.  He had a big day yesterday and today.  Yesterday, he made a visit to Miranda's class.  He was the hit of the day, we could not make it down the hall with being stopped to say how cute he was.  Today, he had his first vet visit.  All the tech thought he was so cute.  He has gain 3 pounds this week, so the doctor was saying he is going to be a big boy.   Just thought we would give a little update.

Regards,
Rick

 Jazz Jazz

Here is some pix's of Jazz and her new family. She has settled in well...puts the other pup "Luke" into his place when he gets too rough. Have not put any training pressure on her except to be house trained...I start her through my pre- school training at 10 weeks. I have introduced her to water...she did get in the pond on her own. (followed the other guys). She and Luke love the pool cover...it's porous , so when they get on it, water appears as their weight ladeons the cover and deflects it into the pool water beneath. Both pups go with me to the office every day...if I'm visiting customers they ride along in crates in the rear of the Suburban. Jazz is a chow hound...Luke is a finicky eater and will walk away from the food...I have both on your food . Jazz was introduced to one of my  live pigeons that I use for training...she thought that was really cool...loved those feathers...the bird lived through her sharp teeth attacks!

Zelda Zelda

Zelda

The ride down went quite well.  Often one was asleep and the other yowling, but frequently they were both quiet.  Bella was the most active and she gave the nylabone a good workout.  On our arrival, Chris spread the sawdust immediately and both girls went out and peed.  No hesitation.  We checked with Helen, who wanted to wait until home to feed, so only got food ready for Zelda.  Zelda and Bella played while waiting for extended family (see attached).  They arrived and we fawned over pups awhile, the sisters kissed each other goodbye, and Zelda ate and immediately went out and did her business.  We played some more and she loves her rope toy and other chewing things (Helen brought her a couple more and an extremely sweet thank you basket with a stuffed lab and chocolate labs etc.) and an hour later she and I took a romp in the front yard where she peed again without sawdust nearby.  She met Kendall (cat) outside and he didn't hiss but looked absolutely shocked that his human was with a D-O-G.  Inside he was fortunately on the other side of a wire mesh gate when he took a major swipe at her.  She didn't flinch because he didn't get her, but we decided until she gets a lot bigger he is outside or there is extremely close supervision when she isn't in crate.  He loves being out, but needs to sleep inside, but we do not trust the mighty hunter.  He had a rough night getting soft paws put on but there are still teeth and we're going to be very observant so that Zelda is safe.  Chris is pretty sure that once she doubles in size they will be OK.

Thanks again for a sweet pup.  I think she's a smart one.  On the driveway we practiced "Come" about 6-8 times (just on 6 foot leash) and when she came, which was almost immediately every time, she got tons of praise.  She wanted to eat her leash in the worst way and I can see it will be awhile before we take strolls down the block where she isn't fighting it.  She squatted down and tried to control the show about where we were going to walk.  Then she tried to eat my book as I was sitting on the floor and each time we presented her rope and she was praised for diverting to it.  She left the book alone after awhile.  At that point she just was falling asleep on the floor so we re-crated her and she fell asleep a short while and is now awake but completely quiet right next to our bed in her crate.  That seems to calm her.  She will go out again in an hour or two (can you believe my husband who is always up until at least 1am is snoring already).

 Bailey Bailey

Hi Jo,

Oh my gosh…..Bailey learned her whistle command for ”come” after doing it one time. She hears tweet, tweet, tweet, and comes running. She is such a good girl and so smart. We are amazed by her ability to learn so quickly and remember everything she has been taught. She has also learned to sit by voice and hand signals and knows the names of most of her toys.

She also seems to have inherited some Gunners vocal ability. I wish you could have been here when the noon whistle went off; she stuck her cute little nose straight up and howled. I guess you could say she also has perfect pitch. It was hilarious; she just kept howling until she got it right! Thank God that whistle doesn’t sound very often; it’s an early warning alarm and they test it periodically.

 Otter

Otter is such a joy and listens well. He sometimes wants to be a shit but we don't let him. He hasn't hardly cried at all while going to sleep or settling down. A rare accident, usu. our fault. He loves the snow and his favorite place is right next to the sliding glass door where it's cooler. we have in floor heat--and he's probably warm blooded) I know he is not to do stairs for awhile but you try and stop him. He's a go getter! 14#already and a powerhouse! Mostly we carry him up and down stairs, but sometimes he tries on his own (see pic) There is a leash dragging behind him. I'm slowly getting him used to a leash as next week is our first puppy kindergarten class. He's already wearing a new collar without a problem.

Just wanted to give you an update. Hope the other pups are as well adjusted as Otter!

Susi

Dear Jo, I must say that Otter does enjoy the snow, so he hasn't minded the late snow fall one bit! I double checked the calendar yesterday, thinking Otter was 30# @ 14 wks old, but as of Saturday he was 15 weeks! Since the actual BD was Jan 6, right?) He has already graduated from Puppy Kindergarten and did very well impressing his teacher with his automatic sits when stopping while heeling. He made me very proud. (of course this is all due to his fine instructor at home! hee hee)

 Zeke Zeke

Fantastic first week with my little buddy Zeke!  He is everything I had hoped for in a pup and we are bonding very well.  He is fitting in very well with Gus and Hank although Hank (Black Lab) was not thrilled with him for the first 4 or 5 days but they are good to go now.  I have attached a few photos for you as well. Thanks for such a great little friend.

As you can see, Koda is getting much bigger.  He went to the vet yesterday for his next series of shots and now weighs 30 lbs.  He has been so much fun to have in our family.  He is really learning a lot and does funny things every day.

We just wanted to share some more pictures with you.  These were taken today.

Just wanted to let you know that Koda is doing great. He has adjusted very well the first week. He went to the vet on Friday and weighed over 14 lbs. Everyone in there thought he was so cute. He is sitting for us when it’s time to eat. We are working on the stay command as well. When it’s time to come back inside, he will sit at the bottom of the deck steps and wait for us to carry him in.

We are so glad that he is finally a part of our family. Attached are a couple of pictures. As you can see, he loves to lay by the slider door snuggled up to some boots.

Little Zoe has been doing great. She is so cute and my other dogs just love her. I've been pleasantly surprised; she has not had any accidents in her crate and was such a little trooper on the long drive home. My three year old son loves her and calls her the other Koda it is really cute.

Thank you for breeding such wonderful puppies.
